IT Buyback, Data Destruction and ITAD in the UAE

Gulf Asset Services is based in Sharjah and collects across all seven emirates. We buy used, surplus and returned IT from UAE businesses, destroy the data on every device with a certificate, and recycle what cannot be reused through licensed partners.

Collection

How collection works in the UAE

Within the UAE, collection is by our own team or contracted secure transport, from your site straight to our Sharjah facility. Most collections in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman can be scheduled within days of accepting the quote; Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates are planned on fixed route days.

On-site erasure and shredding are available anywhere in the UAE for organisations whose policy does not allow data-bearing devices to leave the building.

Rules that apply

Data protection and e-waste rules in the UAE

The UAE’s federal data protection law is Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Free zones with their own regimes include the DIFC (DIFC Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020) and ADGM (Data Protection Regulations 2021). Each requires personal data to be protected until it is securely disposed of, which is why a certificate per device matters when you retire IT.

On the environmental side, Federal Law No. 12 of 2018 on Integrated Waste Management sets the national framework, with emirate-level rules on top, such as Dubai’s Law No. 18 of 2024 regulating waste management. Using licensed recyclers and keeping documentation is how a business shows its e-waste was handled correctly.
