What decides the price of used drives

Interface and capacity

High-capacity NVMe and SAS SSDs are worth most.

Wear level

SSD wear and power-on hours are read from every drive.

Wipe or shred

A wiped drive can be resold. A shredded one is worth only its scrap value. We price both options so you can choose.

Data and documentation

How we handle your drives

Every drive is logged by serial number and erased with verified software to NIST SP 800-88. Drives that fail erasure, or that your policy says must be destroyed, are shredded. You get a certificate per drive.

Where it goes

  • Parts: Components harvested and sold.
  • Recycle: Bought for its material value, recycled by licensed partners.

Frequently asked questions

Is erasure really as safe as shredding?

Verified erasure to NIST SP 800-88 makes data recovery infeasible and lets the drive be reused. Shredding is the right choice for failed drives or when your policy requires physical destruction.

Can you shred drives at our site?

Yes. On-site shredding is available, witnessed by your team.
