What decides the price of used storage systems

Drive count and type

Most of the value sits in the drives. SAS and NVMe SSDs are worth much more than spinning disks.

Controllers

Controller generation decides whether the array resells whole or is broken down.

Drive destruction choice

If your policy requires shredding, drives lose their resale value. Wiping keeps it. We price both options.

Licences and support

Arrays that can be re-licensed for a new owner resell better.

Data and documentation

How we handle your storage systems

Every drive is removed and logged by serial number, then erased to NIST SP 800-88 or shredded, on site or at our facility. Your certificate lists each drive against its array.

Can we keep the drives and sell only the array?

Yes. We price the chassis, controllers and shelves without drives, and can shred your drives separately.

Do you buy tape libraries and old LTO tapes?

Yes. Libraries and drives may resell. Used tapes are degaussed or shredded and recorded.
